The fall release of the E3 Forensic Platform shines with big updates. With the annual smartphone firmware shift Paraben did not disappoint with solid support of iOS 17 and Android 14. These updates were incorporated with full logical imaging and parsing of some new data sources that were in the firmware releases. In addition to support the firmware, new specialized parsing is now available for the KnowledgeC.db file found in OS file systems. This data is accessible with Jailbreak methods for acquisitions and other full file system dumps. The other notable change with E3 is the support of two popular open-source tools iLEAPP and ALEAPP directly in E3. You can now bring in those images and parse and use the powerful analysis options in E3 to review the data.
“With the incorporation of iLEAPP and ALEAPP into E3 you can now work with two tool processes in a single interface making cross-validation an easier step in your workflow.”
– Amber Schroader, CEO & Founder
In addition to great mobile updates, the release also added support for Ring camera compliance data, Yandex Browser, and new registry keys. The final highlight is Google Takeout parsing. Valuable information is found in these requested archives that can give valuable investigative insights. New data parsing for access logo activities, location history, maps, Google Pay, Google Play Store, Google shopping, and mail data are all part of this release. Additional parsing is planned in the following releases to show the valuable data from over 150 different artifacts from Google Takeout.
Paraben has maintained the power and value principles with E3 since 2015 and continues to offer tons of artifact capabilities for an affordable price to digital investigators worldwide.
